2024 Galleries in the Gardens Student Art Award (GIGSAA)

Wed 20 November to Mon 2 December.
This annual exhibition showcases work by local Senior Visual Arts students from Bulahdelah Central School. Come and see this special exhibition which is the culmination of this year’s Galleries in the Gardens Student Art Award.

Now in its fifth year , this Award is an initiative by the Galleries in the Gardens not-for-profit art group, to encourage participation in and to reward excellence in visual art. The Award gives students their first ‘art world’ experience of having their works displayed (and offered for sale if they choose to) in a professional public gallery – The Gallery, waterfront at 81 Marine Drive, Tea Gardens.The exhibition works will be on display in November - Wed 20 November to Mon 2 December. 2023 Galleries in the Gardens Student Art Award (GIGSAA)

This exhibition showcases work by local Senior Visual Arts students from Bulahdelah Central School. Come and see this special exhibition which is the culmination of this year’s Galleries in the Gardens Student Art Award. In its fourth year now, the Award is an initiative by the Galleries in the Gardens not-for-profit art group, to encourage participation in and to reward excellence in visual art. The Award gives students their first ‘art world’ experience of having their works displayed (and offered for sale if they choose to) in a professional public gallery – The Gallery, waterfront at 81 Marine Drive, Tea Gardens. The exhibition works will be on display from Friday 18 November thru Monday 27 November.

Congratulations to all students who participated in the Galleries in the Gardens Student Art Award...Hannah Baillie-Angeles for the winning entry 'My Mothers Blood'; Braiden Dvorik for the Highly Commended 3D set of 'Meerkats/Self Portrait'; Blake Lewis for his detailed graphite work 'No Direction' (featuring Argentine soccer player Messi); Yolanda Trace for her collage 'Self Portrait / Everything Russian'; Jazz Bishell for her digital 'Queer Representation in the Media; Abigail Smith for 'This is Me' collection of 2D works; Ollie Cowan for 'Basketball' featuring the iconic Kobe Bryant; Lorelei Genner for 'Houses 2007 - 2023'; Jaymii Ray for 'The Land' and Blake Mulder for 'My Grandfather in the War'.
